Gli affreschi nelle ville venete. Il Settecento. 2

edited by Giuseppe Pavanello Ӭ(see previous volumes)
The presentation of this catalogue of 18th-century frescoes in Venetian
villas is an event in the fourth Festival of Venetian Villas due to be
held from 17 to 23 October
There are over 4,200 Venetian Villas in the regions of the Veneto and
Friuli Venezia Giulia. The villas, an extraordinary resource attracting
tourists from all over the world, require integration into an overall
regional system.ӬThe legacy of a distinct culture with a strong
identity, this patrimony of values and traditions is a great asset for
the regions involved, not only from the architectural and artistic
points of view, but also as a means of promoting cultural, economic and
overall social development.
The widespread but at the same time fairly uniform system of cultural
goods and landmarks deserves to be studied, made better known and
developed further.  Shared strategies and the combined use of skills and
functions will help pursue the aim to support excellent restoration
programmes and the sustainable reuse of buildings while attracting more
visitors and improving the quality of the environment.
Developing the network of Venetian Villas at this particular moment in
time is a challenge and an opportunity to be entrusted to the younger
generations.
The programme of this edition of the Festival has been designed to
involve an increasingly large and varied public in interpreting
experiences and comparing similar initiatives in other countries.
