Over the course of four days, a group of students selected through an international call for applications will take part in a workshop curated by Marco Lutzu (University of Cagliari) and Simone Tarsitani (Durham University). The students will explore issues related to the video filming of musical performances, sound recording and digital editing of music films. Part of a broader programme called “Eyes on Music. Visual Ethnomusicology Projects”, the workshop will be held in collaboration with and in the premises of ARCHiVE – Analysis and Recording of Cultural Heritage in Venice. The “Eyes on Music” programme was launched in 2018 by the Intercultural Institute of Comparative Music Studies with the aim of providing training, promotion activities and production support in the field of audiovisual and multimedia ethnomusicology.
