Venice, 18 December 2020
The Secretary General of the Fondazione Giorgio Cini, Renata Codello, together with the President of the Fondazione Lucio Fontana, Paolo Laurini, are pleased to announce an important collaboration between the two institutions, aimed at promoting a new scholarship dedicated to Professor Enrico Crispolti (Rome, 18 April 1933 – Rome, 8 December 2018).
The call will be published in 2021 by the Institute of Art History of the Fondazione Giorgio Cini directed by Luca Massimo Barbero and the Fondazione Lucio Fontana, and will have as its central theme the study of the Argentine period of Lucio Fontana (monuments, projects and works ), renewing and ideally continuing the relationship between the famous art historian, who has dedicated much of his research to the work of the Italo-Argentine artist, and the new generations of scholars.
The project is intended for Italian or foreign graduate, doctoral or post-doc candidates up to 35 years of age, with an advanced knowledge of the Spanish language and experience in the field of archival research.
It will last six months, to be spent between Italy and Argentina, carrying out research activities in the South American country aimed at finding news, testimonies and documentation relating to the presence and work of Fontana in that country.
