    Art catalogs, periodicals, essays, and open-access journals: the Foundation boasts a long-standing and well-established editorial tradition, characterised by a wide range of publications of significant historical, cultural, and artistic value.

    The general catalogue of publications includes numerous series and journals: among these, there are significant encyclopaedic works such as the Universal Encyclopedia of Art, the Encyclopedia of Entertainment, and the History of Venice, created in collaboration with the Encyclopaedia Italiana Treccani. From the outset of its activities, the Foundation has contributed to philosophical-religious reflection and to key issues of contemporary society, as evidenced by the Quaderni di San Giorgio series, which addresses existential, ethical, and social matters. The publications also include extensive documentation of the exhibitions held at San Giorgio, featuring art catalogues and studies on Venetian graphic art. Finally, the journals published by the Foundation, such as Studi Veneziani, Saggi e Memorie di Storia dell’Arte, Arte Veneta, and Studi vivaldiani, are prestigious references for scholarly research in the historical, artistic, and musical fields.

    ARTE VENETA

    Founded in 1947 under the presidency of Giuseppe Fiocco and the scientific direction of Rodolfo Pallucchini, Arte Veneta stands out as one of the most significant specialist journals in the field of Art History. Published by Electa, Arte Veneta serves as a key reference for historical-artistic studies, contributing to research and the dissemination of knowledge in this area.

    The journal is directed by Luca Massimo Barbero and coordinated by the Institute of Art History. It is recognised by ANVUR as a Class A scientific journal for Ancient History, Philological-Literary, and Historical-Artistic Studies.

    SAGGI E MEMORIE DI STORIA DELL'ARTE

    Founded in 1957 under the direction of Giuseppe Fiocco, Saggi e Memorie di Storia dell’Arte stands as one of the most important scholarly publications in the field of Art History with a historical-critical approach. The journal is distinguished by an interdisciplinary framework that extends beyond the confines of Venetian art, allowing for an in-depth exploration of topics related to Italian and European art.

    The journal is directed by Luca Massimo Barbero and coordinated by the Institute of Art History. It is recognised by ANVUR as a Class A scientific journal for Ancient Sciences, Philological-Literary Studies, and Historical-Artistic Research.

    STUDI VENEZIANI

    An interdisciplinary journal that explores the multiple aspects of the history of Venice and the Venetian State, addressing themes that extend beyond historical-political, institutional, social, and economic realms, including literary and artistic aspects.

    Founded in 1959 as the ‘Bollettino’ of the Institute for the History of the Venetian State and Society, the journal changed its name in 1965. It is currently directed by Egidio Ivetic, the present director of the Institute.

    STUDI VIVALDIANI

    Founded in 1980 by the Antonio Vivaldi Italian InstituteStudi Vivaldiani focuses on the life and works of Antonio Vivaldi, exploring the musical, cultural, social, and historical context in which the composer lived and worked. The journal includes two sections that concentrate current information: Miscellanea, curated by Michael Talbot, and Discographie Vivaldienne, curated by Roger-Claude Travers.

    Directed by Chiara Casarin, the journal is available online on the Foundation’s website.

    LETTERA DA SAN GIORGIO

    Founded in 1998, Lettera da San Giorgio is the Foundation’s journal, which gathers information on the upcoming activities of the Institutes and Research Centres. The journal features unpublished contributions on collections, archives, research, and ongoing projects, as well as on the prominent figures who have frequented the Island of San Giorgio Maggiore. The final section presents updates on new publications, either published or curated by the Institutes and Centres of the Foundation, stemming from current scientific research. The publication is directed by Chiara Casarin.
