Il Bucintoro nell’Arsenale (dettaglio), Venezia, Fondazione Giorgio Cini
From 20 May 2021, the evocative spaces of the Bibloteca del Longhena in the monumental Fondazione Giorgio Cini complex will host the Venezia è tutto d’oro. Tomaso Buzzi: disegni “fantastici”1948-1976 exhibition curated by Valerio Terraroli.
Organised with the contribution of Rolex Italia as part of the Amici di San Giorgio programme, the exhibition presents around ninety drawings and watercolours by the architect Tomaso Buzzi, partly from the archives of the Fondazione Giorgio Cini’s Istituto di Storia dell’Arte and partly from the loan of a selection from the fine Pieri collection in Milan.
The exhibition is entirely made up of drawings sketched on loose sheets and in notebooks, drawn from life or memory, in ink, watercolours and ballpoint, sometimes enriched by a short text or caption, capturing on paper events such as concerts and festivals, both fashionable and popular, or views of Venice and the Lagoon, architecture, angels and imaginary images.
The exhibition will be accompanied by a catalogue published by Skira
