    Digital Heritage

    DIGITAL ARCHIVES

The Digital Archives portal provides access to the vast and invaluable archival heritage of the Fondazione Giorgio Cini, which includes over 90 collections related to the disciplinary and thematic areas of the Foundation’s Institutes and Centres.

This ongoing project reflects the Foundation’s commitment to the preservation and enhancement of its documentary heritage, making the descriptions of the collections and digital resources accessible online, the result of continuous digitisation efforts.

    DIGITAL LIBRARY

The Digital Library of the Fondazione Giorgio Cini is a tool that allows free access to some of the bibliographic, archival, and multimedia collections held by the Library, Institutes, and Research Centres.

The digital reproductions of the assets, along with their additional information and metadata, which are continually expanding, reflect the diversity and richness of the artistic and cultural heritage of the Fondazione Giorgio Cini. Based on international standards and the IIIF protocol, the Digital Library enhances the accessibility and usability of digital objects, as well as facilitating cross-platform consultation.

CATALOGUE OF THE INSTITUTE OF THE HISTORY OF ART

The Photo Library of the Institute of the History of Art at the Fondazione Giorgio Cini houses an extensive collection of over one million photographs, documenting works of art, drawings, and architecture, with particular emphasis on Venice and the Veneto region.

Thanks to the constantly updated online catalogues, it is possible to explore this vast heritage, progressively digitised and catalogued over the years to ensure broader access and consultation.

The research activities of the Institute of the History of Art have also led to the creation of the Photographic Atlases, dedicated online catalogues focusing on specific themes and research projects, such as Italian Renaissance woodcuts and Venetian garden statuary.
